How many times have you seen a team winning with the equation reading 29 runs needed off the last over? But Rinku Singh played one of the greatest cameos for Kolkata Knight Riders, beating Gujarat Titans in one of the engrossing IPL clashes. Rinku Singh smacked five maximums of the last five deliveries of the match to take KKR home.

The game was turned in GT's favour after Rashid Khan snapped a hattrick, but Rinku had different plans against the reigning champion's bowler, Yash Dayal.

It wasn't like Dayal bowled unbeatable deliveries in the last over, but hitting five maximums on five is not a kid's trick.

The game between GT and KKR saw like a zillion turns and curves in both innings. But most of it were in the second half of the play. After losing two quick wickets initially, Ventakesh Iyer and skipper Nitish Rana stitched a 100-plus partnership, putting KKR on the front foot.

However, Alzarri Joseph's second spell sent both the set batters back to the hut, followed by a dream hattrick by Rashid, which included Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Shardul Thakur's wickets.

Mohammed Shami followed Rashid with a well over, and it seemed Gujarat would end the affair clinically. However, Rinku started the show first against the Irish Joshua Little, scoring a sixer and four on the last two overs of the penultimate over.

Yash Dayal had 29 runs in the bank, with Umesh Yadav being on strike. The Number 9 batter gave the strike to Rinku on the second ball, with KKR needing 28 off the last five balls.

Rinku smacked the first six over long-off for a biggie, following it with a heavy over deep backward square leg and then he made three off three with a smack over long-off.

With 10 needed off two balls, the Gujarat players had a mini-meeting in the field, but nothing worked as Rinku just went bang-bang. Both of the hits landed into the stands over long-on.

Eventually, Rinku ended with an unbeaten 21-ball 48 as his miraculous innings helped Kolkata make it two off two in the IPL 2023.
