On Sunday, Kolkata Knight Riders shell-shocked the defending champions Gujarat Titans, handing them a gut-wrenching three-wicket defeat in the 13th match of the IPL 2023. Rinku Singh emerged as the hero for the Knight Riders, smashing five consecutive sixes off Yash Dayal and sealing a miraculous victory for the two-time IPL champions with one ball to spare.
After powering his team to a stunning win, the Uttar Pradesh batter opened up on his unbelievable cameo.
Speaking to the broadcasters in the post-match presentation, Singh revealed that he focused on believing on his abilities and sticking to the basics, which paid him rich dividends.

"I had belief that I can do this. Rana bhai said to keep belief and to bat till the end, then we will see what happens. (On the single) I was just trying to hit sixes. (Umesh) Bhaiya was asking me not to think much and just play the ball. I was not thinking a lot, was just reacting to the ball. It kept coming out of the middle, I had belief and it came off in the end."
Riding on Singh's astonishing knock, KKR recorded their second victory of the season, progressing to the second spot in the points table. Up next, they will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 19th game of the tournament on April 14.
