Indian emerged victorious in the second Test against Australia in Delhi, securing a decisive 2-0 lead in the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2023) and retaining the esteemed trophy. Moreover, their triumph has brought them closer to securing a place in the World Test Championship final, slated for June 7 at The Oval in London.

The current series has been characterized by a dismal performance from the Australian team, failing to put up a significant challenge in both matches so far. However, all-rounder Glenn Maxwell remains hopeful and confident that his team will recover and put up a fierce fight in the upcoming third Test scheduled to commence on March 1 in Indore.

While speaking to reporters, Maxwell said that his team showed a lot of fight in the second Test. The all-rounder stated that bar that one session on Day 3, he thought they were absolutely outstanding.

The 34-year-old acknowledged that playing in India can be a daunting experience for any team, making it difficult to put up a strong performance. Despite facing challenging circumstances, he believes that Australia has shown considerable resilience, particularly in matching India at different times during the series.

Maxwell emphasized the importance of taking hold of critical moments in the game, urging his team to persevere and stay in contention with India. He recognizes that there have been a few moments where Australia has had the upper hand in the game, particularly on day three of the second Test.

According to the right-hander, staying ahead of Rohit Sharma led side at any point in India is a sign that they're doing the right things. However, he reckoned that to secure a victory, they need to maintain their momentum and stay focused for a more extended period.

Meanwhile, the swashbuckling batter has been named in Australia’s squad for the three-match ODI series against India. The series will get underway on March 17 in Mumbai.
