Over the past year or so, India's bowling stock has taken a blow due to a flurry of injuries.

The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Arshdeep Singh, and Kuldeep Sen have all visited the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for rehabilitation.

Former India captain Kapil Dev has given his two cents on the issue of recent injuries to Indian bowlers. According to him, Indian bowlers must bowl more in the nets to develop their bowling muscles.

Speaking to Gulf News, Dev, who remained injury-free in his 16-year career, said that workload across international, domestic, and T20 cricket leagues have resulted in players becoming more prone to injuries.

Here's what Kapil Dev explained

"Now the season extends to more than 10 months. The more you play the more injuries will happen. Cricket is not a simple game. One has to be athletic, use all the muscles and play on different ground conditions, the softness and the hardness,

"The more you bowl in the nets, the more your muscle will start developing. Today, I am told, that the pacers are allowed to bowl only 30 balls. That's one reason. When they take so much stress to play at the professional level, then the body starts cracking. They have to bowl more than anything else."

The likes of Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik have risen in their performances for India in the absence of senior bowlers recently against Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
