Ex-Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Anil Kumble has named Mayank Agarwal and Yuzvendra Chahal as two of the most underrated players in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

With high-profile names like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Lasith Malinga, and Sunil Narine getting all the spotlight, the names of Agarwal and Chahal goes under the carpet. In the past few seasons, these two cricketers have set the IPL stage on fire with some brilliant performances. They might not steal the limelight that often but they keep doing their job diligently, without fail.

Recognizing their performances, former India and Punjab Kings head coach Anil Kumble said that Agarwal and Chahal are two of the most underrated players in the history of the league.

“That's a tough one. Underrated player. In recent past, I would Mayank Agarwal as an underrated player. From a bowling perspective, I don't think he gets as much credit, but what he has done, Yuzvendra Chahal has changed the fortunes of whichever team he has played for."

Agarwal made his IPL debut in 2011 for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, it wasn’t until 2018 that he made a significant impact in the league, scoring 120 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 127.65. In the next three seasons, Agarwal amassed over 300 runs to justify his talent.

Unlike Agarwal, Chahal has always performed well for whichever franchise he has played for in the IPL since his debut in 2013. Both players have the experience of playing over 100 games in the cash-rich league.
