In a remarkable turn of events, swashbuckling Australian batter David Warner has set the record for the most runs at Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi. Warner, who ensured a great start for Delhi Capitals during their ongoing group-stage face-off against Punjab Kings, surpassed legendary Indian batter to attain this phenomenal feat.

Most IPL runs in Delhi

  • David Warner: 935 runs in 34 innings
  • Virender Sehwag: 933 runs in 33 innings
  • Shreyas Iyer: 855 runs in 29 innings
  • Rishabh Pant: 769 runs in 24 innings

After debuting in 2009, Warner gradually established himself as a legend in the IPL, impressing everyone with his incredible consistency. Overall, the stylish left-hander has more than 6000 IPL runs to his name at an average excess of 40 and a strike rate of almost 140.

Besides Delhi Capitals, Warner has represented Sunrisers Hyderabad, who he led to their maiden IPL title in the 2016 season. However, after being released by SRH, the Australian great was picked by the Capitals in the 2022 mega auction and has been the backbone of their batting since then.

Riding on Warner's fireworks, DC are well on course of a comprehensive victory, well-placed at 69 for 1 in 6.2 overs at the time of writing.
