Ravindra Jadeja has been one of India's premier all-rounders for more than a decade now. 'Sir Jadeja' as he is fondly known has the ability to change the game both with the bat and ball, and has done that time and again both at the international level and in IPL. He is a live wire on the field too and is surely among the top fielders in the world. It makes him an all-round package and an invaluable asset for any team he represents.

However, Jadeja often seems to be under someone's shadow and has often being denied of the recognition he deserves. Now, Daren Ganga, the former West Indian skipper has also shared his thoughts about Jadeja and his growth as a player over the years in a special conclave organised by OneCricket - 'Beyond the Stumps.'

Daren Ganga said that he is a great admirer of Ravindra Jadeja and has followed his cricket closely. Ganga adds that he is a player who is a great asset with this all-round skills but often does not get the recognition he deserves.

"I always has been a great admirer of Ravindra Jadeja. I have followed his cricket playing for India in Test match cricket, ODI cricket and even in the IPL and he goes about his work pretty much unnoticed. However, he is one type of player in my estimation who is such an invaluable asset with both bat and ball and his value as a batter often times is not really given the type of recognition that it deserves."

Ganga recalled a 2019 thriller between CSK and RR where Jadeja smashed a six in the last over to take CSK over the line. He goes onto add that Jadeja has a great ability to deliver under pressure and that is something that makes him a special player.

"I remember him playing the game for Chennai Super Kings against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, that was back in 2019. Chennai were chasing 155 in that game and the said match is the one MS Dhoni walked onto the field. It's always something I have admired Ravindra Jadeja for the way he takes control of a tense tough pressure cooker situation and that situation he was able to strike a six. I think he scored 9 not out and won the game for CSK and was voted an impact player."

Ganga reveals that despite Jadeja being such a big player for over the years, he still gets insecure about his position in the team. This according to Ganga, is quite a shocking thing that the player of the calibre of Jadeja still thinks so much about his performances and delivers with passion for any team he plays for.

"He, however, is still passionate about the his value added to the particular field. He is aware of the stiff competition of the younger players coming up the ranks and when I look at Ravindra Jadeja and his contributions across the board, you don't think the player of his calibre and with his history will entertain those kind of thoughts like feeling insecure after string of low performances with the bat or with the ball. To me, that is something that really shook me."

Ravindra Jadeja will be a crucial player for India in their bid to lift the World Cup title as India gear up for a home World Cup starting on 5th of October.
