Kolkata Knight Riders have clinched a remarkable three wickets victory over defending champions Gujarat Titans, in what can only be described as the most exhilarating finish in the history of the Indian Premier League courtesy of Rinku Singh’s heroic efforts at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, April 10.
The two-time champions had their work cut out for them as they were chasing down a target of 205 runs to win. With just one over left, the odds were heavily stacked against them. However, the Uttar Pradesh batter defied all odds as he smacked Yash Dayal for five sixes in a row, etching his name in the history books of the lucrative league.
The incredible display of batting by Rinku Singh has taken the cricketing world by storm, with congratulatory messages flooding in from all corners of the globe. Kolkata Knight Riders, in reply, chased down the target, with Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana playing key roles in the successful chase, smacking 80 and 45 runs respectively .
