England batters ransacked Pakistan's bowler on Day 1 of the first Test at Rawalpindi, which saw as many as four top-order players score hundreds.

Opting to bat first on a flat track, centuries from Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Harry Brook, and Ollie Pope witnessed England create history by becoming the only team to breach the 500-run barrier on Day one of a Test.

Pope, who scored 108 off 104, hailed red-ball coach Brendon McCullum and captain Ben Stokes' approach towards Test cricket, which enables players to showcase their potential.

Speaking to Sky Sports post stumps, Pope revealed that the duo had asked England players to entertain people and enjoy batting.

Here's what Pope stated

"We really listened to what Baz [McCullum] and Stokesy have said. It was an amazing day. The best thing is everyone has lived by how the two guys up top want us to play. They want us to entertain people,

"It is not about milestones. It is about putting on a show and putting the team in a good position. The fact everyone is so happy to buy into that puts us in a really good place."

As of writing, England are 630 for 7, with Ollie Robinson and Will Jacks batting on 29* and 23*, respectively.
