West Indies women's selectors have included veterans Shemaine Campbelle and Kycia Knight back into the One-Day International (ODI) squad for their upcoming three-match series against visitors England. Captained by Hayley Matthews, the side will be without the services of star all-rounder Stafaine Taylor, who is yet to recover from an injury.
Both Campbelle and Knight are making their return from injuries.
Left-arm spinner Kaysia Schultz received her maiden ODI call-up while leaving out the likes of Shamilia Connell, Kyshona Knight, Natasha McLean, and Jannillea Glasgow, reducing the squad size to 14 from 17 from the last series.
England will be captained by Heather Knight, who returns from a long injury-layoff.
This is an important series for both sides, keeping in the mind the ICC Women's Championship, where West Indies are placed fifth, and England are a few places below on seven. The top five teams in the table will gain automatic qualification for the 2025 ODI World Cup in India.
The ODI series will take place between December 4 and 9 in Antigua. The ODIs will be followed by a five-match T20I series as well.
West Indies Women squad: Hayley Matthews (c), Shakera Selman (vc), Aaliyah Alleyne, Shemaine Campbelle (wk), Afy Fletcher, Cherry Ann Fraser, Shabika Gajnabi, Sheneta Grimmond, Chinelle Henry, Kycia Knight (wk), Chedean Nation, Karishma Ramharack, Kaysia Schultz, and Rashada Williams.
