Hosts India will take on World Champions Australia in a five-match T20I series starting today in Mumbai.

Led by Harmanpreet Kaur, India will look to begin their preparations for the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup next year with the perfect chance to upstage their arch-rivals.

Meanwhile, Alyssa Healy will lead Australia in the absence of Meg Lanning. Healy, who enjoys scoring in Indian conditions, reminisced about recording her maiden international ton in Vadodara in 2018.

Both sides last clashed in the Commonwealth Games final, where Australia managed to hold their nerves and clinch a close win.

Healy, speaking with the media, said that India are a quality side and are aware of their threats. She also spoked about India's U19 stars Richa Ghosh and Shafali Verma, who will play in the inaugural Women's U19 World Cup in January 2023.

Here's what Healy stated

"I am really excited to play against a quality side. It’s great to be back, it’s been a long time we have been here. It’s exciting to me as the captain. We are obviously aware of the danger of power they (India) possess, so it’s great for cricket as well. We know we are in for a battle,

"If you are stacking your U-19 side with your full-strength international side, then that might be an issue, but from my point of view, having Shafali and Richa Ghosh is only going to do wonders for those young players coming through and they can pick their brains in what works well, what does not in international cricket and it’s a great thing."

All five T20Is will be played in Mumbai across two venues between December 9 and 20.
