Former Australia cricketer and coach Darren Lehmann reacted to Fox Cricket's report on the Indore pitch rating change as the International Cricket Council (ICC) reversed the match referee Chris Broad's decision.

While the pitch for the third Test of the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy held at Indore was given a 'poor' rating, ICC brought it down to 'below average' after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appealed against the match refree's verdict.

"The footage from the Test was reviewed by an ICC appeal panel consisting of Wasim Khan, ICC General Manager - Cricket, and Roger Harper, ICC Men's Cricket Committee Member. Both were of the opinion that, while the guidelines had been followed by the Match Referee in accordance with Appendix A of the Pitch Monitoring Process, there was not enough excessive variable bounce to warrant the 'poor' rating," ICC released a statement.

"The panel, therefore, concluded that the pitch should be rated 'below average', meaning the Holkar Stadium will receive only one demerit point instead of the original three," it added.

This was followed by criticism from Fox Cricket as the media outlet captioned their article on Twitter as:

"India dished up a truly terrible pitch for the third Test against Australia, but they've managed to get the pitch rating upgraded from 'poor' after an appeal! ."

Commenting on the post, Lehmann dropped in a series of laughing emojis, mocking ICC's decision.

Although Australia lost the series against India, it is noteworthy that the only Test they won on the tour was at Indore.
