Bangladesh earned a series lead, winning the first T20I against Ireland by 22 runs, courtesy DLS method.

Talukdar and Litton Das reign supreme

Asked to bat first, Bangladesh were off to a blistering start as their openers, Rony Talukdar and Litton Das recorded highest-ever Powerplay score of 81 for the  BanglaTigers in T20Is.

In the eighth over bowled by Craig Young, Das walked back to the dressing room three runs short of his fifty. However, Talukdar continued in his merry way, smashing his maiden T20I half-century.

Though Talukdar's dismissal dented the run-rate a tad bit, Shamim Hossain and then Shakib Al Hasan with their cameos led the side to 207/5 in 19.2 overs before rain brought an abrupt end to Bangladesh's innings.

Taskin Ahmed dismantles Ireland in an 8-over dash!

Ireland started off the chase in style as they were given a revised 103-run target in eight overs after rain finally decided to make way for some cricket

Paul Stirling and Ross Adair scored 18 runs in the first over. However, Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed made the match a one-sided contest as both of them bowled with lot of heat as Ireland could never really make any impact in the run-chase. Bangladesh eventually won the game by 22 runs (DLS method) taking a lead of 1-0 in a three-match T20I series.

Taskin Ahmed emerged as the star-performer for Bangladesh as his four wickets washed away the visitors, forcing them to score mere 81 runs in eight overs.
