Bangladesh had a field day in Chattogram as their batters brought out the mighty side, almost helping the team achieve their highest-ever T20I total in the first match of the ongoing series versus Ireland.

Bangladesh scored 207 runs in 19.2 overs before rain ended their innings as they fell eight shy of their highest score in T20Is.

The Tigers also recorded their all-time high powerplay score of 81 runs, breaking their previous best of 74 that came in a successful run-chase against Sri Lanka in the Nidahas Trophy 2018.

The milestones do not stop here. Bangladesh registered their fastest team 100, bringing up the achievement in just 8.5 overs.

Talukdar, Das smash records

Asked to bat first, the hosts enjoyed an opening stand of 91-runs as Litton Das and Rony Talukdar went berserk.

Talukdar, who is on a comeback trail, hammered his maiden T20I fifty, scoring a 38-ball 67. Das too was at his best, although fell three runs short of a half-century.

Particularly, because of the duo's efforts, Bangladesh finished at 207/5 in 19.2 overs.

Meanwhile, the game has been interrupted due to rain.
