Injuries have been plaguing the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League as some big-ticket superstars Rishabh Pant, and Jasprit Bumrah along with some international talents Will Jacks, Kyle Jamieson and Jhye Richardson have already been ruled out.

What previously came as a major shock to Kolkata Knight Riders was that their skipper Shreyas Iyer got a back injury during India vs Australia Test series and is out for the first few games. Moreover, the franchise is worried about his further availability as he could be ruled out of the entire season if deemed unfit.

When the management was thinking about Iyer, another issue came their way. Two of their Bangladeshi international superstars Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das are likely to arrive late for the tournament that begins on 31st March.

With Bangladesh set to play Ireland in a 3-match ODI and T20I series along with a one-off Test, the availability of both the players is under doubt as they would join the side after the conclusion.

While Shakib will only feature in ODI and T20s that ends on 31st March, Litton will be reaching India after the Test that concludes on 8th of April.

KKR's first match is against Punjab Kings on 1st April in Mohali so Shakib is likely to be available for the following game versus Royal Challengers Bangalore on 6th April. Conversely, Das will be with the squad after their encounter against Gujarat Titans on 9th of April.
