The Incident took place in the first innings when Gaikwad was facing UP bowler Shiva Singh. In the first four balls, he smashed straight four sixes. The fifth ball was a no-ball and Gaikwad successfully smashed the ball into the gallery. In the last two balls of the over, Gaikwad smashed two consecutive sixes.  

After that, Gaikwad became the first player to smash seven sixes in an over in the limited over cricketWith that madness, he smashed 43 runs in a single over. Fans enjoyed a thrilling ‘Gaikwad Show’ on the field.


Gaikwad’s Unbeaten Double Hundred and Impressive Win

After having a successful outing in the group stage of the Vijay Hazare trophy in 2022, they faced Uttar Pradesh in the second qualifier match. While batting first, the Maharashtra batters showcased their excellence. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad led the team from the front by scoring an exceptional unbeaten double-century. He played an explosive innings of 220 runs in 159 balls. He smashed 10 boundaries and 16 over-boundaries. Depending on this, they put on a huge total of 330/5 in 50 over.

The target was huge to chase down but the UP batters fought hard. After losing the first wicket early, Aryan Juyal played an anchor role. He scored an exceptional ton and played an outstanding knock of 159 runs in 143 balls. Priyam Garg scored 22 runs. Shivam Sharma played a knock of 33 runs in 41 balls. The other batters failed to dominate the opponent. They got all in 272 runs and Maharastra won the match by 58 runs.
