Having conquered the Hyderabad leg of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Pakistan have embarked on a gruelling journey for the remainder of the tournament, will which see them visit as many as four cities.

Their first pit-stop is Ahmedabad, which will host the much-anticipated India-Pakistan clash on October 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium.

Team Pakistan reached Ahmedabad on Wednesday, after taking a commercial flight from Hyderabad. As shared by a travel vlog by PCB's official 'X' handle, a surprise cake-cutting celebration occurred midair courtesy of the airline, after their record-breaking chase against Sri Lanka.

While several players could be seen chilling and relaxing, team director Mickey Arthur and captain Babar Azam could be seen having a discussion.

Unlike Hyderabad, the Pakistan team left for the team hotel from a private exit at the airport and were greeted with a traditional welcome from the hotel staff.

Team Pakistan were welcomed with a shower of flower petals, musicians beating dhols, as players and members of the contingent were handed traditional scarf while artists performed local dance.

The high-profile encounter is expected to be a glittering affair, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) planning cultural performances ahead of the start. Dignitaries such as Amit Shah, Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan and Rajnikanth are expected to be in attendance.

Team India will reach Ahmedabad today, while opener Shubman Gill has already reached the city late Wednesday night from Chennai.
