Australian T20 skipper Aaron Finch has been reprimanded by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for using obscene language during the 1st T20I against England in Perth on Sunday (October 10).

According to a press-release issued by the global governing body, Finch was found guilty of using inappropriate words during the 9th over of England's innings.

It all happened on the 3rd delivery of the 9th over when Cameron Green got one past the bat of Jos Buttler. Finch sought Wade’s advice for the review after the on-field call went against Australia.

Finch also asked the umpires whether the catch had carried to Wade but he got no response. As the time ran out, a frustrated Finch was caught on the stump mic using the inappropriate language.

This is Aaron Finch's first such disciplinary breach in the past 24 months

As per the governing body, this offence from Finch comes under the violation of Level 01 of Article 2.3 of the ICC 'Code of Conduct' for Players and Support staff.

Article 2.3 Level 01 relates to “use of an audible obscenity during an International Match.”

Finch admitted and pleaded guilty, following which the match-referee officially reprimanded with 1 demerit point.

Meanwhile, Finch and Australia will look to avenge the 8-run defeat in the 1st T20I when they take on England at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on October 12.

Australia were overpowered by a strong English batting attack in Perth this weekend, and although David Warner tried his best, the target of 209 proved to be a bridge too far to scale.

Finch, who got run out for 12 on Sunday, confirmed that he will be back to the opening spot from the 2nd T20I onwards.
