The speedster hurled his entire quota of overs, conceded just 19 runs and picked the wicket of West Indies’ in-form opener Brandon King. Notably, King’s dismissal marked the 50th wicket of Pandya’s T20I career, one which features 66 matches dating back to January 2016.

Besides 50 wickets in T20Is, the 28-year-old has also compiled 806 runs in the format. The cricketer holds an average of 23.02 with the bat and continues to maintain a clobbering T20I strike-rate of 143.16.

After Pandya’s economical spell during India’s emphatic win over the hosts, he has now become the first-ever Indian cricketer to achieve a unique all-round double, scoring above 500 runs with a collection of 50 or more wickets in T20I cricket.

He is set to enhance his record further when he features in the final two matches of the series, scheduled to be played on August 6 and August 7.
