In a significant development, Yashasvi Jaiswal has completed 3,000 international runs. He reached this milestone during the second Test match between India and West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on October 10, 2025.
Talking about the match, Indian captain Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bat first. Jaiswal opened the innings along with KL Rahul, and the duo stitched a solid 58-run partnership off 105 balls before KL Rahul was dismissed.
Impressive Stats at just 23
Jaiswal made his international debut in 2023, and in no time has quickly established himself as one of India's most promising young batters. His calm temperament and consistency, especially in Test cricket, have earned him praise from fans.
At only 23 years of age, Jaiswal’s overall numbers are remarkable. The star batter has played 25 Test matches for India and has made 2245 runs at an average of 49.88 and strike-rate of 66.22. His aggressive and mature style in red-ball cricket has made him a regular in India's Test squad.
He has just played 1 ODI for India in which he has made 15 runs. In the shortest format of the game, Jaiswal has made 723 runs in 23 matches at an average of 36.15 and strike-rate of 164.31.
Joins an elite list of left-handed Indian openers
With this achievement, Jaiswal also became only the fourth Indian left-handed opener to score 3,000 or more international runs, joining the likes of Sourav Ganguly, Gautam Gambhir, and Shikhar Dhawan.
Despite his strong form, Jaiswal was not picked for India in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025. The young opener also became the talk of the town after he was also not included in the T20I team for the upcoming series against Australia. This decision came as surprise to many fans.
