Champion Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja added another feather to his cap in the ongoing Test Championship final against Australia as he leapfrogged Bishan Singh Bedi to become his country's most successful left-arm spinner.

Jadeja achieved the feat on the third day of the Test when he dismissed both the centurions from first innings, Steven Smith and Travis Head in quick succession.

The left-arm orthodox deceived Smith by dragging his length back, forcing the batsman to top edge an attempted slog straight to point.

Jadeja was all over Head as he made the most of the rough outside the off-stump of the left-hander.

He eventually dismissed the southpaw by forcing him to drive a fullish length delivery, which turned back into Head, and the attempted drive went straight to the bowler.

Head's dismissal was Jadeja's 267th scalp in the longest format of the match, which took him ahead of the legendary Bishan Bedi, who took 266 wickets in 67 outings.

Jadeja added another wicket to his tally on the fourth morning as he knocked over Cameron Green from round the wicket by a delivery that landed into the rough to peg back the stumps.

The spin-bowling all-rounder has now taken 268 wickets in his 65-match Test career @ 24 24 apiece.

Overall, he ranks as the 4th best left-arm orthodox in the history of Test cricket, with Derek Underwood (297 wickets in 86 matches), Daniel Vettori (362 in 113 matches) and Rangana Herath (433 in 99 matches) ahead of him.
