Will Ruturaj Gaikwad Open For CSK vs PBKS In IPL 2025 Match?

CSK started IPL 2025 with a bang, winning their first game against Mumbai Indians at home. However, since then, the five-time champions have not been able to live upto the billing and have lost three matches in a row now. They are now up against Punjab Kings who have won two and lost one, and would be itching to get back on track.

CSK Captain Set To Bat At Number 3 Again

Shreyas Iyer has won the toss and has decided to bat first, and CSK would have to do better in the run-chase than they did in the previous match. However, the big question is that who will open for CSK in the game. 

There have been calls of bringing in Ruturaj Gaikwad at the top of the order again, but the CSK captain has made it clear that the team gets better balance when he bats at number 3 and would continue to bat at that position.

"We are going with the same team. Me batting at 3 gives a little more balance to the squad. That was the thinking at the auction and we built our squad around that. We have been backing that, hopefully, our openers will come good tonight."

The CSK skipper has hit two fifties at number 3 in IPL 2025 as well, and would be hoping that the opening duo of Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway fire for them in this game. Rachin started off the season well but failed in the last couple of games. Conway, on the other hand, after missing three games, could not make an impact in his comeback match.
