Pakistan in danger of getting knocked out of World Cup due to rain

According to Accuweather.com, the temperature will hover around the late 20s throughout the course of the game. The chances of rain around 5 pm are high, but showers are less likely during the nighttime. However, the conditions will remain overcast right throughout the match, and there is a chance of a shortened game with precipitation chances falling to 20 percent from 7 pm. However, the ground has already faced a lot of rain over the last week or so, and therefore, the condition of the outfield is also an issue, even if the rain fades away.

The rain did stop for a while after the first halt, but it started drizzling again and it is expected to be another long day for groundstaff at the R. Premadasa Stadium. So far, four matches have been abandoned due to rain in Colombo which includes two for Pakistan and they are in danger of losing a chance to play another game. The Fatima Sana-led unit are yet to win a single game in this World Cup and a washout would put them out of the competition.

South Africa Women, on the other hand, have qualified for the semifinal with four consecutive wins in the tournament. Therefore, a washout would not make much of a difference to their campaign.
