However, things are currently not looking promising at the venue, with drizzle playing spoilsport in the much-awaited encounter. Earlier, the second T20I between New Zealand Women and Sri Lanka Women concluded in a washout, as rain repeatedly intervened in the proceedings at the University Oval.

Considering how the Women's game panned out, it's highly likely that the upcoming second T20I between Pakistan and New Zealand could be marred by frequent rain interruptions.
According to AccuWeather, the chances of precipitation are as high as 91 per cent in Dunedin today. In fact, it predicts 99 per cent cloud cover, with rain starting anytime in the next 30 minutes.
As per CREX, it stopped drizzling around 1.27 PM local time, as the groundsmen took the covers off. However, the toss has been delayed due to a rain and wet outfield.
But with another spell of rain predicted, it won't be surprising if the second T20I gets shortened or abandoned.
What Happened In 1st T20I?
The first T20I between Pakistan and New Zealand was a one-sided encounter, which the hosts won comfortably by nine wickets. Batting first, Pakistan put up an ordinary show, being bundled out for 91 runs. In response, New Zealand raced to the target in 10.1 overs, with Tim Seifert and Finn Allen guiding them to a clinical win.
Update: The toss for the 2nd T20I was delayed and eventually took place at 7.40 AM IST (3.10 PM local time). The game is will get underway at 8.10 AM IST (3.40 PM local time), but it has been reduced to a 15-over game.
