WI vs IND | Rohit-Jaiswal Give India an Explosive Start After Siraj's Fifer Restricts West Indies To 255

Riding on Mohammed Siraj's spectacular five-wicket haul, India bowled out West Indies for a modest 255 in their first innings of the ongoing Test at Port of Spain, Trinidad. The first session of day 4 saw India's tremendous fightback as their pace battery, led by Siraj, ripped apart the hosts' fragile lower order in quick succession.

The morning session began with West Indies stranded on 229 for five, with their last recognised batting pair of Jason Holder and Alick Athanaze unbeaten in the middle. The hosts suffered a massive setback in the very first over, as Mukesh Kumar trapped young Athanaze in front of the stumps.

Coming to bowl the next over, Siraj jolted the Windies with another blow, dismissing Holder for 15. After the ex-captain's departure, it took a little time for India to wrap up things, as West Indies were bundled out for 255. Siraj emerged as the wrecker-in-chief with the ball for India, claiming five wickets for 60 runs.

In response, India began their second innings on a high note, as Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal came out with all guns blazing from the word go. The swashbuckling pair took on the Windies bowlers, smacking them all around the park. Thanks to the fireworks of two Mumbaikars, India raced to 98 for one before a rain interruption led to an early lunch break.

Expectations from the second session

Considering India have nine wickets in hand, they will likely bat with an aggressive approach and increase the lead to somewhere around 400 in the second session. Meanwhile, West Indies would like to pick wickets in frequent intervals and control the flow of runs.
