The Champions Trophy 2025 is up and running in style, and in the fourth game of the tournamnent, England are up against Australia. It is a big game for both the sides, as a loss could put their qualification for the semis in serious doubt with South Africa registering big win. So, both teams need to get going straightaway, and it promises to be a cracking encounter.
Australia have a depleted side with many big players out of the tournament, but they still have some exciting players in their arsenal. The injuries and retirement have forced Australia to play two wicketkeepers in their XI, in the form of Josh Inglis and Alex Carey.
Josh Inglis Is First-Choice Wicketkeeper For Australia
Out of the two wicketkeepers, Josh Inglis is keeping the wickets. The reason for it is that Josh Inglis has been their preferred wicketkeeper in the last few years in he ODI format and was part of the final of 2023 World Cup as well. So, Australia, to maintain the continuity in the team, have decided to keep Josh Inglis as a wicketkeeper and Carey as a fielder.
There is a possibility that Alex Carey can be replaced in the playing XI for the upcoming games with Australia having options like Jake Fraser-McGurk and Aaron Hardie at their disposal. Carey though scored runs against Sri Lanka in Australia's last ODI series and it would be interesting to see which wicketkeeper makes an impact in the high-pressure game game against arch-rivals England.
