England won the toss and elected to bowl first against Rohit Sharma's India in the third ODI. The match is currently taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium on February 12. This marks India's first ODI appearance since the 2023 ODI World Cup final.
Talking about the changes, England made one change, with Tom Banton replacing Jamie Overton. Meanwhile, India made three changes—Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, and Arshdeep Singh come in, while Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammad Shami, and Varun Chakravarthy miss out.
Jos Buttler on opting to bowl first:
"We are gonna bowl first today. A little bit of dew might come out later but we have batted first in the first 2 games and obviously we would like to experience bowling first before the Champions Trophy. We have got some good positions and we need individuals and partnerships to go on and really make a match turning contribution. It has black soil. We played New Zealand in the World Cup here so we will see how it plays out today."
While, Rohit Sharma on batting first:
"No, I wanted to bat first and put runs on the board because we have chased couple of times in this series so now we wanted to bat first. Yeah I enjoyed it. It was important for me and the team as well. To win it for my team was more important but also happy with my knock. It was needed. "
