Mumbai Indians are up against Chennai Super Kings in the match 38 of IPL 2025. CSK batted first and scored 176 on the board, with Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube scoring fifties. Dhoni's Yellove Army is at the bottom of the table, and need to win desperately, and they have now made a bold move of bringing in Ravichandran Ashwin as an Impact player over the more preferred and expected option Anshul Kamboj.
Dhoni Brings Back His Old-Warrior As Impact Player In El-Classico Of IPL 2025
The move to bring Ravichandran Ashwin as an Impact Player is the result of how the pitch behaved in the first innings. The ball is sticking on the surface and finger spinners got good help with Mitchell Santner bowling three overs for just 14 runs and one wicket to his name. Santner is a tall bowler and it helped him get extra bounce off the pitch, and Ashwin can also utilise the same in the second innings.
Also, Ashwin has lot of experience of bowling at the Wankhede. It could be crucial in a high-octane game, especially against the left-handers, MI have at their disposal. Thus, Dhoni would be hoping that his experienced spinner comes up with a big performance in the El-Classico of the IPL.
Mumbai Indians are currently at the seventh position on the points table, but are finding their groove now, and are coming into the game against CSK with two consecutive wins. Both the teams though, need two points, as one more loss could put them in a very tricky position.
