In the ongoing SA20 2025 match between Durban's Super Giants and Pretoria Capitals at the Kingsmead stadium, India-origin Senuran Muthuswamy has hogged the internet after a scintellating spell. Notably, the left-arm spinner took three wickets to leave the Giants crippled. 

Durban's got off to the best possible start with a 61-runs opening stand but then Muthuswamy came to the Capitals' rescue and took three wickets, which included the likes of Quinton de Kock. Who is Senuran Muthusamy?

Who Is India-Origin Senuran Muthusamy?

It is worth noting that Senuran has his roots in India as the 31-year-old's family hails from Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu. Although, Senuran is born in South Africa, but he has visited India twice and met his distant relatives, who still continue to live in India. 

Notably, Senuran holds a strong record in first-class cricket and it helped him earn his maiden South Africa call-up for the series against India in 2019. He made his debut on October 2, 2019 and it was a dream debut as he got Virat Kohli as his first wicket when he caught him off his own bowling. 

In present times, Muthusamy has played just four Test matches in the last five years. However ,his last outing was against Bangladesh in October 2024. Out of the four Test matches he has played, he has taken just seven wickets.

Talking about Muthusamy's stats, he has 252 wickets in first-class cricket and also 4873 runs with the bat, which includes eight centuries.
