Mahendra Singh Dhoni is back as the captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and instantly he made an impact as the new skipper made wholesome changes in their playing XI for the IPL 2025 clash against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). For a crucial game which CSK needs to win, the new captain isn't messing around.
One of the interesting changes made by MS Dhoni was to bring in Anshul Kamboj in place of Mukesh Choudhary. Eyebrows were raised by this selection, and fans are intrigued as to who is Anshul Kamboj, the bowler hand-picked by MSD.
Who is Anshul Kamboj?
Kamboj, prior to joining CSK had gained IPL experience as he was a part of the Mumbai Indians squad last season. Surprisingly, he played 3 matches and claimed two wickets for the Hardik Pandya led side.
However, what caught everyone's attention was his 10-wicket haul in a single Ranji Trophy innings and it resulted in CSK going after the talented player. There was a lot of bidding war for the Haryana pacer, but ultimately CSK roped him for INR 3.40 crore. His ability to swing the ball both ways is what makes him a special commodity.
Interestingly, he replaced Mukesh Choudhary who had a couple of off games and the batters found it easy to target him.
