Vidarbha will play Maharashtra in semifinal 2 of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. The knock-out battle is scheduled to begin at 1.30 PM IST on January 16 at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

Vidarbha, with unbeatable Karun Nair at the helm, was unstoppable as well and remained the only undefeated side in the competition. 

The form of Nair has been extraordinary, having scored 664 runs in six innings with five centuries. He is the backbone of the success of Vidarbha that includes an unbeaten 122 in the quarter-finals against Rajasthan. 

Vidarbha's batting lineup, featuring dependable Dhruv Shorey and promising Yash Rathod, adds to their depth.

Maharashtra, however, has put up a great fight and went through to the quarter-finals, beating Punjab by 70 runs. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad had a dismal campaign with only 187 runs in six games, but it's the emergence of young guns like Arshin Kulkarni and seasoned Ankeet Bawne that has made the team move forward. 

Kulkarni's sensational hundred on List A debut and Mukesh Choudhary's impressive bowling have been the turning points for Maharashtra.
