Maharashtra and Punjab will collide in the third quarterfinal of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 season at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Saturday, January 11. The winner of the match will qualify for the semifinals of the tournament.

The Maharashtra cricket team, under the leadership of Ruturaj Gaikwad, topped the Group B points table earlier in the tournament by securing six wins from seven matches. They won each of their first six games in succession before losing to Railways in the final match of the opening round.

The Punjab team also registered six wins and a defeat from their seven league matches. Abhishek Sharma and co. will enter the knockouts on a trail of four huge victories over the likes of Mumbai, Saurashtra, Hyderabad and Puducherry. The Punjab finished the Group C stage at number two on the points table, only finding themselves behind Karnataka.
