In their places, pacers Yash Dayal and Vijaykumar Vyshak have been called up for their first-ever T20I appearances, along with Ramandeep Singh, who has also earned his maiden call-up for the Indian team.

On the other hand, Proteas are bringing back several key players for this high-stakes home series against the reigning T20 World Cup winners. David Miller, Marco Jansen, Gerald Coetzee, Keshav Maharaj, and Heinrich Klaasen are all returning to the T20I format.
