Where Is KL Rahul? Here's Why Pooran Came Out For Toss In LSG's IPL 2024 Clash vs PBKS

In a dramatic turn of events, Lucknow Super Giants' regular captain, KL Rahul, didn't come for the toss ahead of their second IPL 2024 fixture against Punjab Kings at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

In Rahul's absence, vice-captain Nicholas Pooran made his way into the middle for the toss alongside his PBKS counterpart, Shikhar Dhawan.

Rahul's absence spread like wild fire in the social media, as fans and experts became curious to know about his availability for the match.

However, Pooran confirmed that LSG took a safe route by not rushing Rahul, as he is coming of an injury lay-off.

The swashbuckling southpaw also stressed that the stylish keeper-batter is among the impact substitutes for this match.

"We will bat first. Just want to play aggressively without any pressure. It's a different surface. KL Rahul is playing as an impact player. He is going to be here. He is coming back from an injury and still early days in the tournament," Pooran said.

Where will KL Rahul bat?

As LSG opted to bat first, Rahul will likely bat at the top order, opening the innings alongside Quinton de Kock. However, as the LSG think tank has decided to manage his workload, he won’t field in the second innings, with a bowler replacing him as the impact substitute.
