IND Vs ENG cut-off time for 20 overs [Source: @OneCricketApp/x.com]
The stage is set for a riveting battle as England Women will collide against India Women in the second ODI of the tour at Lord's, London. There was a lot of buzz ahead of the contest, but the worst fear came true as it is raining like cats and dogs in London and toss has been delayed for the battle.
The India Women's team showed an inspired performance as they defeated the hosts to capture the first ODI by 4 wickets, thus taking a 1-0 lead in the series. They had a chance to seal the series at Lord's, but it seems the rain god has decided to ruin their party. As per Accuweather, there was a 70% chance of rain on Saturday and the predictions came true.
However, we now have an official cut-off time for a 20-overs contest (i.e, if the rain stops after some time).
The final cut-off time for a 20-overs contest
The official X account of Lord's Stadium mentioned that the 20-overs cut-off time for the game to resume is 16:08 PM BST (8:38 pm IST). Currently it is 11:16 in London and the officials will wait for another 4 hours before they take a further call on the game.
"The cut off time for 20 over per side match will be 16:08. Hopefully once weather improves, umpires will carry out pitch inspections throughout the day. We will endeavour to keep fans updated," Lord's official X account stated.
If the 20-overs contest is also not possible, the match will be called-off and India Women will have their 1-0 lead intact, meaning that even if they lose the next ODI, they won't lose the ODI series.
