The wait is finally over as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final is right upon us. The defending champions, Gujarat Titans will take on the 4-time champions, Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 28.

CSK defeated GT in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2023, and will be confident enough to repeat that feat in the all-important final. On the other hand, after a drubbing against CSK, GT bounced back with a comprehensive win over the Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator on May 26.

There are so many factors that could decide the fate of the IPL 2023 final, but none bigger than the cloudy weather that surrounds Ahmedabad at the moment.

What happens if the final gets washed out?

Just like the Eliminator, the rain gods are likely to make his appearance in the IPL final as well. Fortunately, the Eliminator wasn't spoiled entirely as we witnessed full 40 overs of the game. However, there is a 40% chance of rain in the evening in the duration of the match.

The match can be delayed till 12:26 AM IST for a 5-over match between the two teams. It can be noted that there is a reserve day as well, so the game can be played on Monday as well.

However, if the rain arrives on the reserve day as well (Monday), and even a 5-over match is not possible, then GT will be crowned as the IPL champions, as they have finished on top of the table in the league stage.
