The Guyana Amazon Warriors and the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots are playing against each other in the 21st match of the CPL 2024. This match is being played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, West Indies.
Andre Fletcher, the captain of the Patriots, won the toss and opted to field first ahead of the game. The Warriors had a very tame start to their innings, losing two wickets in the first two overs and struggling at 1/2.
Hetmyer and Shepherd guided Warriors to a respectable total
Shimron Hetmyer, batting at number five, played an explosive knock of 63 runs from 33 deliveries and injected some much-needed momentum into their innings. However, the Warriors kept losing wickets at regular intervals from the other end, and it looked like they would not be able to post a competitive total on the board.
Romario Shepherd's late fiery cameo of 34 runs from 22 deliveries helped the Warriors put on a somewhat formidable total of 137 runs on the board.
In reply, the Patriots lost Andre Fletcher early. The middle order also failed to make any significant contribution to the team's chase. However, the team's other opener, Evin Lewis, stayed strong at one end and fought for the team's cause.

Lewis was seen putting the gas on the pedal in the seventh over against Imran Tahir. The southpaw slammed the former South African international for a couple maximums and a four off the first four deliveries and got the team propelling towards the target.
However, he was dismissed by Dwaine Pretorius while at 49 off 46 deliveries.
Imran Tahir's CSK Stint
Imran Tahir has been part of the Chennai Super Kings franchise in the IPL. He has played 27 matches for the franchise and has picked up 35 wickets in them at an economy of 7.11. The 45-year-old veteran is known for his willy and clever bowling in the T20 format. He would not have been happy with the assault that Evin Lewis brought down on him.
