In the first match of the season at the Providence Stadium, Guyana, the home team led by Imran Tahir is up against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Guyana Amazon Warriors are batting first and Shimron Hetmyer, their biggest batting star turned on the heat with a brilliant 63 off just 33 balls. He smashed four fours and five sixes in his knock and two of them were against Dominic Drakes.

The first six against Drakes came in the 9th over while the second six was smashed in the 11th over and it grabbed plenty of eyeballs as Hetmyer unleashed a lovely flick off his pads. It was a full delivery, angling into Hetmyer and the left-hander just used the angle to whip it over deep square leg with great disdain. Drakes ended up giving 23 runs in his two overs and it was a brutal treatment of one of the highly rated white-ball bowlers in the Caribbean who was even part of Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings camp in IPL.

Ashmead Nedd Destroys Guyana Amazon Warriors

Hetmyer was the only batter who looked comfortable though and by the time he departed on 63, his team's score was just 83, showing the kind of impact Hetmyer made. After his wicket, Guyana kept losing wickets and were 94-7 at the end of 15 overs.

For Patriots, Ashmead Nedd bowled brilliantly and picked four wickets while giving away just 25 runs in his four overs. He picked two wickets in the very first over of the match and then came back later in the game with another double-wicket over. Guyana Amazon Warriors has so far played five matches and have won three out of them, and would be looking to notch up a win in this game to start off their home leg on a positive note.
