Executing a hard length delivery, Hardie cleverly placed the ball in the channel just outside off. Jaiswal, attempting to heave it away over mid-wicket, found himself on the back foot and fell victim to the deceptive bounce generated by Hardie's delivery. The ball struck the splice of the bat, resulting in an awkward trajectory.

The drama unfolded as the ball sailed towards wide mid-on, setting the stage for a brilliant fielding display. Tim McDermott, stationed at mid-on, exhibited exceptional awareness and agility. Running backward and to his left, McDermott maintained unwavering focus on the ball under the challenging lights.

The culmination of this stellar effort was a crucial wicket for Australia, breaking India's initial momentum. Jaiswal, a player known for his aggressive batting, was sent back to the pavilion, marking the first setback for the Indian side in the match. Aaron Hardie's calculated and well-executed delivery in the last ball of the powerplay showcased his skill and played a pivotal role in shaping the course of the game.
