Qualifier 2 of the ongoing International League T20 (ILT20) 2024 will witness Dubai Capitals (DC) square off against the Gulf Giants (GG) this evening at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

While DC are coming off a close win in the Eliminator against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ADKR), GG faced a defeat against finalists MI Emirates last evening in Qualifier 1.

Dubai Capitals

The Dubai Capitals have had quite a topsy-turvy ride in the ongoing edition, where they qualified for the playoffs, finished fourth, and managed to gain victory in Eliminator 1. For Dubai, most of the scoring has relied upon captain Sam Billings and star all-rounder Sikandar Raza, who have found very little support from others.

Tom Banton and Tom Abell did show some form against ADKR and will hope to continue their momentum. The bowling has been spearheaded by Scott Kuggelejin, who is their leading wicket-taker as well, with notable performances from Raza and Olly Stone also coming in.

Gulf Giants

Defending champs Gulf Giants have looked solid during the group matches; however, they were met with a loss in Qualifier 1. The Giants overall look the most balanced, with almost all their key players contributing across departments.

The batting charge has been taken care of by skipper James Vince, Shimron Hetmyer, and Jordan Cox, who have done the bulk of the scoring, while others have chipped in around them. The likes of Jamie Overton, and Zuhaib Zubair have been managing the bowling leadership quite well, claiming 10 and 11 wickets, respectively.
