Scott Boland once again made a significant impact with the ball as he took the crucial wicket of young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, that gave Australia an early breakthrough on Day 2 of the ongoing second Test at Adelaide Oval. The Victorian bowler's sharp delivery dismiss Jaiswal for 23 runs, leaving India in a precarious position at the start of India's second innings.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Fails In The Second Innings

In the 9th over of India's second innings, the Boland's delivery was a textbook example of his skill and precision. Before getting out, Yashasvi Jaiswal looked comfortable at the crease but failed to move his feet in response to a back-of-length delivery that angled across him from over the wicket.

The ball from Boland, pitching in the off-stump forced Jaiswal to nick the ball, and send sharp outside edge to wicketkeeper Alex Carey. It was a significant blow for India, as Jaiswal had appeared settled at the crease and seemed poised for a longer innings. The wicket came on the very first ball of his spell.

The early breakthrough gave Australia a perfect start, and it was clear that the momentum had shifted firmly in their favor. For Jaiswal, the wicket was a bitter pill to swallow, as he had also failed in the first innings, where he was dismissed for a duck.

With Jaiswal now back in the pavilion, India’s hopes rest on the shoulders of their middle order, which has been inconsistent in recent matches. At the time of writing, India are at 62 with the loss of two wickets.
