South African all-rounder Wiaan Mulder blazed Durban’s Super Giants (DSG) past the 150-run mark with an outbreak of sixes off Sunrisers Eastern Cape speedster Marco Jansen in match number 12 of the ongoing SA20 2024 season.

The 25-year-old went berserk in the penultimate over of the DSG innings, as he bludgeoned four sixes in succession to jump from 25-ball 28* to a 29-ball half-century. His innings, coupled with dazzling 30s from opener Matthew Breetzke and Heinrich Klaasen, lifted the DSG to a competitive 159-7 from their 20 overs.

Wiaan Mulder arrived at the crease following the dismissal of Marcus Stoinis in the 11th over of the DSG innings. The cricketer cautiously stroked his way to an unbeaten 28 from 25 balls and formed a handy partnership with Dwaine Pretorius.

Taking DSG to 125-5 from the first 18 overs, Mulder punched Eastern Cape fast bowler and national teammate Marco Jansen with four consecutive sixes off the final four balls of the penultimate over of the innings. 

At the end of his four-ball destruction, Mulder had reached a 29-ball half-century before he was run out for 52 the following over.

Wiaan Mulder's teammate Heinrich Klaasen also unleashed three sixes off his own to produce 31 scintillating runs from just 17 balls in the innings.

The Durban's Super Giants headed into the contest off the back of their table-topping run this SA20 2024 season, winning three of their four fixtures so far.
