Regarded as one of the best fielders in the world during his playing days for Pakistan, Shoaib Malik turned the clock back a few years by taking a sharp catch in the 2024 Pakistan Champions T20 Cup. During the closing stages of the match between Stallions and Panthers in Rawalpindi, the 42-year-old ran backwards to complete a clean catch after lower-order batter Mohammad Ibtisam top-edged one off Mohammad Ali outside the inner circle.

Overall, Shoaib Malik plucked two catches in the evening, both off the bowling of Mohammad Ali to assist the speedster in his three-wicket haul.

Earlier in the match, Stallions batted first and hauled 216-3 from 20 overs. Captain and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris clubbed 55 runs from 37 balls, while number four Hussain Talat cracked an unbeaten 101 from just 50 deliveries with 12 boundaries and three sixes.

Shoaib Malik, one of the leading run-getters in the history of T20 cricket, remained in the dugout throughout the Stallions innings.

Defending 217, Stallions secured an emphatic 35-run win by restricting the Panthers to just 181 in 19.1 overs. Apart from Mohammad Ali, off-spinner Usman Tariq also picked up three wickets in his four-over spell.
