In the ongoing clash between the Desert Vipers and the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the ILT20 2024, Dubai, Wanindu Hasaranga provides a clutch to the Vipers in the middle overs and smashes a huge six against the left-arm break bowler, Imad Wasim. 

The Sri Lankan all-rounder is primarily known for his leg-spin skills, but he also possesses some serious hitting skills. After missing out on the World Cup 2023 due to injury, Hasaranga recently made his comeback in the series against Zimbabwe. 

The Sri Lankan also rose up in the T20I ranks after his exemplary display of skill in the home series against Zimbabwe. Also, he was appointed as the captain of the Sri Lankan team and helped the team seal a 2-1 T20I series win. In just three T20Is, Hasaranga stood up and went on to scalp seven wickets, leading the team from the front.

On being promoted to bat up in the order, Hasaranga displayed sheet dominance and smacked a huge six in the 10th over of the innings, which was being bowled by the Pakistan's left-arm spinner Imad Wasim, who went on to concede 45 runs in his quota of four overs. 

While the Knight Riders were all over the Vipers and picked up 3 wickets within 70 runs, which is why Hasaranga was promoted. The leg-spinner not only stood on the wicket but also played a fearless brand of cricket, scoring crucial 24 runs and made a partnership of 57 runs with Adam Hose. 

With Hasaranga's little cameo in the middle overs, the Desert Vipers have put up a fighting total of 164 and are ready to defend against the Knight Riders.
