Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli made a much-anticipated return to domestic cricket, and his presence at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi sent fans into a frenzy. Thousands of cricket lovers gathered to catch a glimpse of their favourite player, chanting and cheering as soon as he stepped onto the field.

As Kohli walked onto the field, fans at the stadium erupted in loud chants of "RCB, RCB," showing their love for the Indian batter and his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The excitement was evident as Kohli prepared to play in the Ranji Trophy, a tournament he last participated in 12 years ago.

The match between Delhi and Railways, held on January 30, was crucial for both teams as they aimed to secure a spot in the playoffs. Delhi captain Ayush Badoni won the toss and opted to bowl first, putting Railways to bat. This match carried significant importance, especially for Delhi, who had suffered a crushing 10-wicket defeat against Saurashtra in their previous game. Railways, on the other hand, came into this match after a drawn game against Assam.

This simple gesture made the moment even more special for the supporters who had been cheering for him nonstop.

Virat Kohli's First Ranji Trophy Match Since 2012

This match marked Kohli’s first appearance in the Ranji Trophy since 2012, when he last played for Delhi against Uttar Pradesh in Mohan Nagar. His return to first-class cricket after such a long gap was a moment of pride for his fans and a boost for Delhi’s team.
