With time, the ugly verbal fight that broke out between Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq during IPL 2023 reached a whole new level. The duo, for the first time since then, faced off on Wednesday (October 11) during the World Cup 2023 fixture between India and Afghanistan at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

It all happened when Ishan Kishan fell after a run-a-ball 47 against Afghanistan. Kohli, coming at No. 3, received a warm welcome at his home ground, and soon after, Afghanistan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi brought Naveen-ul-Haq back into the attack. The action was, of course, strategic given the duo's unwanted history.

However, contrary to popular belief, Kohli did not immediately go on the offensive against Naveen. The star batter actually kept a close eye on Naveen's deliveries at first, and then everyone's attention was drawn to what happened at the end of the over.

Kohli took a single off the last ball of the 20th over, bowled by Naveen. And when they were almost in front of one another, they gave each other no attention. Kohli's walk past Naveen was so icy that it caused the crowd to erupt once more.

However, after their altercation, Naveen and Kohli were seen hugging one another later in the innings.

At the time of writing, India are 202/1 after 24.5 overs, with 71 more requiring for a resounding victory. Rohit Sharma is on 130* off 81 deliveries, while Kohli is batting on 16* off 21 deliveries.
