Virat Kohli and Mitchell Starc, two of the finest cricketers of modern-day cricket, were playing together in 2014 and 2015 when they were representing RCB in the IPL. Starc, meanwhile, took a long break from the competition since then, while Kohli is still there, playing for the same franchise.

The duo were head-to-head when RCB were up against KKR on Friday (March 29) in Match 10 of the ongoing edition at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. And the manner in which India’s talismanic batsman greeted Australia’s prolific left-arm quick at his 'old home' made a lot of headlines.

After winning the toss and asking RCB to bat first, Shreyas Iyer gave Mitchell Starc to begin the proceedings. Kohli, who tends to struggle against left-arm quick, was fearless and took the strike. Starc began with a length delivery outside the off stump, and Kohli gently pushed it through short third before finding a thick outside edge.

The ball raced towards the boundary rope, making a streaky four off the first delivery of the innings.

Meanwhile, KKR got their first wicket, with Harshit Rana drawing the first blood by dismissing RCB skipper Faf du Plessis for a paltry eight-ball six.
