The fourth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is heating up between India and Australia. The two teams are showing brilliant fighting spirit at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Australia batted first in the game after winning the toss and put on a massive total of 474 runs. Steve Smith played a brilliant knock of 140 runs from 197 deliveries. Besides Smith, players like Sam Konstas, Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne scored half-centuries.

After that brilliant batting effort India started well in their first dig of the game. However, by the end of the second day the home team made a comback in the game with some quick wickets. It was Nitish Reddy who saved day for Indian to some extent.

The lead for Ausralia was a considerable one. The target for the home team would be to set a target of over 350 runs for the visitors. Kohli Takes Over Captaincy From Rohit Sharma

The match stands at a balance with Australia slightly ahead. However, the Indian team is fighting hard to make a comeback and it is evident from the way the whole unit is responding. Virat Kohli is considered one of the best Test captains in the history of the Indian cricket. The leader in Koli came out during the second innings of the Australian team.

The star Indian batter was seen talking with Rohit Sharma. Kohli was seen changing the field around instead of Sharma. He was also seen consulting Sharma on what could be the strategy of the team and where the fielders could be placed. It was heartening for the Indian fans to see Kohli being proactive and taking charge on the field.
