India and Australia are engaged in an intense battles in the fourth Test of the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The match saw plenty of twist and turns on the third Day of the match. Nitish Kumar Reddy played the role of the saviour for the visitors as he scored his maiden Test Hundred.
Although we saw intense action on Day 3, rain marred the proceedings towards the end. Due rain interruption, third day's play was curbed by half an hour. In order to recover the lost time, Day 4 of the match has started half an hour early at 4:30 AM IST. Notably, instead of the normal 90 overs in a day, 98 overs of play is expected on the fourth day of this very important match.

So two and half fours of play is expected in the first session of the day. The second session will have its normal two hours play followed by the third session which can be extended by half an hour to complete the allotted overs in the day.

The match is very nicely poised at the end of day three in the game. India have fought back well after being on the back foot in the first couple of days. However, Australia still have a sizeable lead in the game and time will be essence for both the teams. While India will be looking to get as close to the Australian total as possible and play out as long as possible, Australia will try and wrap up the Indian innings as quickly as they can.
