Virat Kohli is known for his consistency and after a brief lean period, he is back in his top form in 2023 and is piling on runs across formats. In the World Cup 2023, he is looking in great touch as well and has now crossed 50-run mark four times in the tournament with a fifty against Sri lanka. He has scored one century as well against  Bangladesh at Pune and looks set for a big score after a fluent fifty.

Virat Kohli is now second in the list of most 50-plus scores in ODI World Cups with 13 fifties in 33 innings. Sachin Tendulkar tops the list with 21 50-plus scores in 44 innings while Virat Kohli has taken 33 innings for his 13 50-plus scores in 50-over World Cups.

Kohli has gone past Rohit now who has 12 fifty-plus in 24 innings and has also gone past 1000 ODI runs in a calendar year for the record 8 times. It was a run-a-ball fifty from Virat Kohli who looked in great touch right from the ball one, after Rohit Sharma departed on the second delivery of the game.

Gill has also scored a fifty at the other end, and both of them with their matured knock have taken India to safer shores after an early hiccup.
